Our City Deserves Better
This week, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani publicly invoked Islamic theology to justify his views on immigration, describing Islam as “a religion built on migration” and citing the Prophet Muhammad’s hijrah while defending sanctuary policies.
That framing matters.
When a mayor grounds civic policy in specific religious narratives, it raises serious questions about the separation of faith and government, and whether all communities are being represented equally.
For Jewish New Yorkers like me and my family, this kind of rhetoric is not abstract. It signals a worldview that marginalizes our concerns and normalizes hostility toward Israel and the Jewish community.
At Iron Dome Coffee, we want to make it absolutely clear that we stand strongly against leaders like Zohran Mamdani.
