This week, I had the privilege of meeting Simon Deng, a South Sudanese Activist and founder of the African-Jewish alliance.

Simon overcame unimaginable persecution under a brutal regime, eerily similar to the threats and violence that Israelis continue to face today. His experiences led him to building a strong alliance with supporters of Israel all around the world.

One message is clear: when we show up for others in their time of need, they’ll do the same for us.

This Havdallah event was hosted by Here I Am, a movement led by Shai Davidai that is centered on combatting anti-semitism, embracing identity, and promoting unity in the broader pro-Israel community.

For those who don't know him, Shai Davidai is an incredible leader in the Jewish community and a major inspiration of mine, and wow, it was amazing to meet him!

I’m so proud that my journey as Iron Dome Coffee’s founder has led me to places like this, where I've met people who have not only taught me about my own culture and my own community, but who also teach us about the world and about our responsibilities in it.
