Hi everyone!!
This past week, I had the honor of attending the Heroes to Heroes annual event, a truly moving experience. I reconnected with Judy Elias, the founder of Heroes to Heroes (and now a close, personal friend), and I met many incredible people who embody resilience, faith, and strength.
Heroes to Heroes is a remarkable organization that not only provides aid to soldiers in Israel, but that also brings Christian U.S. military veterans, those who’ve suffered emotional and spiritual wounds from war, to Israel, where they can reconnect with their faith and begin their healing journey.
At the event, I was humbled to receive an award on behalf of Iron Dome Coffee for our contributions. They gave me a mug so big, it might finally hold enough coffee to match my daily intake (haha.) But more meaningful than the mug was meeting a man named Sean Jordan. His story really left a mark on me.
Sean's Story:
Sean grew up in a difficult home, and after suffering brutal bullying as a kid, he buried his trauma deep. Fueled by his rage and his desire to never be vulnerable again, he joined the military and served honorably for 12 years.
But Sean still carried deep wounds with him.
Unfortunately, Sean lost close friends in combat, turned to alcohol, and became consumed by pain he didn’t understand. His turning point came during a military run, when he realized he had become the kind of leader he never wanted to be: idolized by those he had led for his aggression and anger.
That moment sparked a transformation. Sean turned to God, quit drinking, and gained the courage to commit to becoming a better man. Heroes to Heroes, according to Sean, was critical part of that journey: bringing him to Israel and helping him reconnect with faith, purpose, and healing.
Sean is now a very active member at H2H, and is not only one of Iron Dome Coffee's biggest supporters, but he's a man I consider a total legend.
Knowing that every cup of coffee we sell helps people like Sean, people who served, suffered, and are now being lifted back up, fills me with immense pride and gratitude.
And at Iron Dome Coffee, that's what we're all about
With deep gratitude,
Justin
