Over the past few days, a series of developments in the Middle East have begun to feel deeply connected.
Reports indicate that Israel’s intelligence services intervened to prevent an assassination attempt on Syria’s new leader. At first glance, that may seem surprising, but in context it signals something much larger.
As Iran continues to weaken under mounting pressure, Israel appears to be acting with long-term strategy in mind. Preventing Syria from immediately falling back into Iran’s sphere of influence is not about dominance, it's about stability. And it appears to be working.
Syria and Israel have never been close allies, but moments like this suggest that old dynamics may finally be shifting.
What followed only reinforced that sense.
Israeli and Syrian leadership reportedly met with President Trump, opening diplomatic channels that have been closed for generations and signaling a willingness to explore a different future for the region.
None of this guarantees peace, of course. But it does suggest that the Middle East may be entering a new phase, one shaped less by perpetual conflict and more by pragmatic decision-making.
If this moment holds, it may one day be remembered as the beginning of a new chapter.
Thank you as always,
